Inaugural Powder Puff Game a Success
Students, parents and the community were all excited to see Powder Puff back in action on Sunday, May 1, 2022 at GCHS on Leasure Field, after being absent for many years. In the weeks leading up to the big game, teams put some serious time into practicing and strategizing, sometimes even early in the morning before school! The football team got a taste of what it’s like to be coaches, referees and cheerleaders, as the girls took over play action on the field. It was a good time for all!
The sun came out just in time for the Freshmen to take on the Sophomores in the first game. After four quarters of back and forth touchdowns, the sophomores took home the win. Game two saw the Juniors take on the Seniors and it was a fight until the very end! When all was said and done, the Juniors reigned supreme.
Trophies were awarded to both winners, and will be displayed at GCHS until next year, when both winning teams will get a chance to defend their titles. GO “LADY DAWGS”!!!
Thanks to all those who made this event such a success! Funds raised from the Powder Puff game and Powder Puff t-shirt sales will go directly to help support the GCHS Football Program.
